Wincharger being restored in Norway

The history of the wincharger:

What we know is that my wife grew up with it. She was born in 1940 and does not remember very much. She remembers that her mother had to stop it in very bad weather when her father was out at sea fishing. They got electricity for lights in the house from the wincharger. Her father must have bought it sometime around 1940, maybe a little later, but we do not know from where. Her father died early so I only met him a few times, and we did not talk about the wincharger. They got electric power to the place in 1950. He sold it to a man in Svolvær some time after 1950. This man put it to work at the place where we found it. This man is also dead, but we have talked to his wife, a nice old lady. She told us that they did have many problems with the wincharger because of very stormy weather, but it gave them electric light in their small cabin for many years. We came just in the right time because her son was going to take it down and destroy it.

At that time 1940 - 1950 there must have been several winchargers in Norway. I have talked to a man in Hamar at my age, and he grew up with what I think was a wincharger. He grew up in Finmark in the north of Norway. I have also visited a man at a small island in Oslofjorden. He has a wincharger just like the one I have. He would not sell it, but it was interesting to see.

Ha en god dag (have a nice day)
